ABOUT

Mason Software Company, founded in 2012 by Bob (dwangobob) Huntley, creates innovative software products for the mobile entertainment marketplace.

Most recently, Mr. Huntley’s hands – and head – are engaged in the wireless entertainment business. The path to wireless began in 1997, when he, along with partner Nobou Kawakami, co-founded Dwango Co., Ltd. (http://info.dwango.co.jp/english/history/) (Nikkei Traded Stock #3715), a leader in the Japanese ringtone, media, and mobile game markets. Dwango has established itself as a leading entertainment content and network technology provider with NTT DoCoMo’s i-mode service, the largest wireless data service in the world. Huntley served as CEO and Chairman until the end of 1999, when he turned the title over to Mr. Kawakami, staying on as director for two additional years. In 2000, he launched and led Dwango North America, a mobile entertainment venture, where he was President and CEO for three years and Chairman until his departure in 2004.

Mr. Huntley’s path to the network game business began in 1994 when, after seeing the multiplayer game DOOM by id Software, he and Kee Kimbrell co-founded Interactive Visual Systems (IVS), the creator, developer and operator of the dwango (dialup wide area network game operation) low latency online network. Shortly after creating dwango, Huntley persuaded the principals of id to bundle his network technology with their future games. He served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, taking IVS to a global leadership position in online interactive entertainment, with a presence in six countries as well as nationwide in the US. He established a partnership with Microsoft’s Zone online game network. Out of the three leaders in the low latency game network arena, Microsoft chose dwango as Microsoft Zone’s technology solution for low latency game play.
